- T stands for Tanaka, the last name of our visionary founder, Mr. Gi’ichiro Tanaka, and our parent company, TANAKA SEIMITSU KOGYO CO., LTD.
- Precision comes from the Japanese word seimitsu, embodying our commitment to exactness and excellence.

Born from the globalization wave of the 1980s, FTP was created to support Honda’s global expansion. As a trusted supplier, Tanaka seized the opportunity to bring its expertise to North America. In 1994, a joint venture with American Honda Motor Co., Inc. led to the birth of FTP, bridging global excellence with local innovation. By July 1996, mass production was underway, and for over two decades, we’ve been delivering high-precision, high-performance parts while earning industry-wide recognition.
